Staying fit in neon

I've always taken my health and physical condition pretty serious and like many, I've
had my ups and downs over the years. Staying physically active is an essential part
of my everyday life and so I decided to share a post of this nature with you guys and also change things up a little. :) I like to set physical goals for myself and MAKE the time (regardless
of how busy I am) to squeeze in at least 1 hour to workout during my day. I'm such the type
that hates going to the gym to use a thread mil, I find it less effective because I can literally be on it for such a long time and not get tired, whereas running on a track or at the park becomes more
challenging and so for that reason, I'd rather be outdoors when doing my running. Ok, and YES,
I love shopping for bright colored pieces in the athletic section of my favorite stores. :)

Outfit Details:

Sports Bra: Champion - Target $14.99
Pink Tee: Mossimo - Target $9.99
Athletic Jacket : Kirkland (Costco) $11.99
Crop Leggings: Nike (Marshalls) $19.99
Shoes: Nike Free 5.0 (Sports Authority) $110

60's inspired piece this FALL

Hi, loves!
I am so excited to be sharing this new blog post with you guys, the reason is…this 60's inspired piece.
Truth is, I am such a "deal hunter" when it comes to shopping and I found this dress a few years
ago at a thrift store! Yes, I said it…at a second hand shop. I used to always be a little
weirded out about even stepping into a thrift store until one day I cleaned out my closet and
decided to donate A LOT of clothes (and I mean A LOT). So I went into a huge thrift shop
near my house and was AMAZED at all that they had. I started looking through some clothes
and I was really surprised to find (if not new) almost new items. I mean, some of
my stuff were daily new, but geez, these pieces even had original tags on them. So from that
day on, I try to stop by second-hand stores about once a month, you guys would NEVER
guess the cool finds I come across and since I LOVE revamping furniture, home decor and whatever
else I can make "better", I can't help but share these awesome things with you all on here.

So this dress was one of the cool pieces I found at that store about 2 years ago. I completely fell in
love with it for two reasons. One: It's my FAVORITE color. Two: I found it to be such a rare little
one-piece dress. At first I was a little bummed because I felt it to be quite big on me but then I asked myself: "Who said it had to be a fitted piece?" So I got it. :)
Given the fact that the color is a little peculiar, I find it to be perfect for fall only.
Oh my, well after all of my rambling, here are the details to this outfit…

* I've been asked to post the purchase prices for my outfit pieces, so as long as I remember how much I paid, I'll make sure to add it on my posts. :)

Thrift Find (Dress): $2.00
Heels: Mossimo Supply Co. $25.00 (Target)
Belt: Merona $5.99 (Target)

FALLing for Polka Dots

I'm so excited that fall is here, even though it doesn't quite feel like it yet.
This past weekend I was at a wedding and I was having a little trouble
figuring out what to wear. I typically don't struggle when putting
an outfit together, but given the fact that the weather here in SoCal was
a bit unpredictable, I was debating whether to wear something a little
warmer or not. I went for this really cute dress (which I have only worn about 3 times
since I got it) that I got a few years ago at Target. I love how it can be very basic as far as
the color and the nude polka dots. It's super feminine, cute and has a chic look as well.
Here are the details to the outfit, pretty simple. :)

Dress: Target
Pumps: Target
Nail Polish: Nars - Dovima

wow… every time I add an outfit post I realize how much garment and accessories I have from Target. I just LOVE that place! lol!

August Favorites

September is finally here and I really felt like sharing some of my
month's favorites with you guys. I've been experimenting with a lot of different
beauty products lately and I have to say that I really enjoy making some time to
try new stuff when I have a chance. Here are some of the products that I feel really
stood out this past month (August) and of course, that I went back to a lot!

The POREfessional by Benefit is a must! I have to say that this pore minimizer works miracles!
You apply it after your moisturizer but before your makeup. I LOVE IT since I tend to have
open pores around my nose area, it really helps!

I've tried other liquid foundations in the past and I honestly keep coming back to MAC Studio Fix fluid foundation. I know MAC tends to have the signature of "heavy" and "cakey" makeup, but this
foundation goes on very light with a medium to full coverage all over. I really love it
and I think it's one of the best foundations I've used since I started wearing makeup.

Contour, contour, contour. It's the main thing I focus on when I do my makeup.
This month I kept going back to this bronzer from NARS. I use it after my foundation under my cheekbones. Makes suuuuch a huge difference!
SHADE: Casino

Ok, I've never been a big fan of eyeliner, but after giving this new liquid pencil eyeliner from L'OREAL, my mind changed! It comes with a double end. One is with the actual liner and the
other is a smudging device that complements this product, I'm IN LOVE!

SHADE: Carbon Black

Mascara is the one thing I can't walk out of my house without! I can say that I've tried so many brands throughout the years and I always come back to L'OREAL! They have the most amazing mascaras.
I gave this new Voluminous "Miss Manga" edition a try and completely LOVED it! It gives my
lashes that length without the clump and with the volume that I desire. To be super honest, I HATE when I use a mascara that weighs down my lashes after I have curled them. Actually, I don't think any one of us likes that! Another thing is that my mascara HAS TO BE waterproof. I don't like to get teary or in the pool and have to worry about having black mascara residue all over my face. This month's go-to mascara…MISS MANGA by L'OREAL.

Nails! I have a thing for doing my own nails, but I ALWAYS struggle. I don't think I have the patience to stay still and wait for my nails to dry, so something always goes wrong. :( boooo
On the bright side, this glitter nail polish from Milani made things so much better for me.
I used it for about 3 weeks in August over different shades, I LOVED IT!

Hands down for Urban Decay's makeup setting spray! I love going out with a fresh look on my face
regardless the time of the day. Spray it on your face AFTER your face is completely done with
your fabulous makeup look and VOILÁ! Flawless and fresh makeup look for hours!

I'm such a fan of perfumes, although I am very picky about them. It's the one item that you can find in my purse all the time!
This month's fragrance: VIVA LA JUICY by: Juicy Couture

My non-beauty product, iPhone case! I was shopping around at target a couple of weeks ago and found this baby on sale for $6.50 and had to take it! Isn't it so cute? I think YES!

Casual in Leather

I know it's summer, the weather has been pretty warm, but who can argue
that our afternoons in Southern California are just perfect? I've been running around
doing a billion things at once and today I just felt like wearing this super cute
leather skirt that I just got at H&M. Ok, I honestly couldn't wait any longer to wear it after
seeing it every morning hanging in my closet. I just love the way it fits and the fact that I can combine it with other pieces to make it a casual look or change things up and make it look a lot fancier!
Here are the details to the outfit.

Top: H&M White Tee
Skirt: H&M
On the Waist: Old Navy Shirt
Heels: Mossimo (Target)
Necklace: H&M
Watch: Marc Jacobs
Sunglasses: Ray Ban Aviator

Snakebite and Leather

It was the weekend of Reventón Super Estrella 2014 in LA which meant I had to pull out
specific items from my wardrobe. For those of you who aren't familiar with Reventón, it's the annual
musical experience brought to you by spanish speaking radio station 107.1 Super Estrella in Los Angeles. Every year the lineup changes and this Saturday I got to experience awesome
shows from some of my favorite spanish bands and artists like La Santa Cecilia, Caifanes,
Enrique Bunbury, Fobia and a few others all performing live at the Staples Center; can it
get any better than that? Seriously though! This was such a fun, unforgettable musical
experience filled with a huge adrenaline hype throughout the 6 hours of pure
amazing music! With that said, here is my outfit for the evening. As usual, I strolled
through downtown LA before heading over to the venue and had brunch at
Bottega Louie.

Comfy Travel

Traveling can sometimes be very exhausting and tiresome so for me, wearing super
comfortable clothes is always key (of course I still want to look good haha!). I'll leave some essential travel tips for you guys that seem to work great for me down below along with one of my favorite travel outfit details.

Traveling tips:

Ok, it really is though. Feeling uncomfortable because you wore the wrong shoes or wrong jeans is
the worst feeling, so make sure you are paired with a comfy outfit and shoes!

Overpacking? I know…I've done it. I used to be BIG FAN of just stuffing my travel bag with
everything I thought I needed and ended up coming home with several outfits that I didn't even
touch. I mean, who wants to carry an extra couple of pounds of clothes or items around just because?

I tend to be an organized person already, but every time I traveled (even if it was a road trip for a
couple of hours) I always had to dig through my bags for things that should have been placed in a
very accessible place to begin with. So staying organized is always important, especially with
Passports, Visas, ID cards, Travel Tickets, aaaand of course, your phone. You can always loose
a travel ticket or even your passport, but God forbid a lost phone!

Outfit Details:

Top: Forever21 T-Shirt
Skinnies: Michael Kors
Sneakers: Mossimo (Target)
Denim Shirt on waist: Old Navy
Sunglasses: Ray Ban Aviator
Watch: Geneva (Charming Charlie)
Stud Wrap: Tasha (Nordstrom)
